Why learn at home with a tutor?

Classes and videos move at someone else's pace. A tutor at your table moves at yours.

Your own devices
You practise on the phone and laptop you'll use tomorrow, with your own accounts and settings.
No travel, no group
No bus, no parking, no feeling behind in a classroom. Ask the same question twice.
A plan for every visit
Each course is written by educators, with practice and homework, so every visit moves you forward.
Something to show for it
Every course ends with a final check or project and a Skill2Door certificate.

How it works

You book a course. We send a trained tutor. Every lesson follows the same Skill2Door plan.

  1. Choose a course

Pick one of five courses, or book a free 20-minute assessment and we'll place you.

  2. Tell us when

Choose the days and times that suit you. We call to confirm the details and the price.

  3. Meet your tutor

We assign a police-checked tutor and send their name and photo before the first visit.

  4. Learn at home

Same tutor, same time, each week. You finish with a final check and a certificate.

Two paths, one place to start

Everyone starts with Computer Basics, or skips ahead after the free assessment.

Office skills

From first mouse click to work-ready spreadsheets and presentations.

AI skills

Use ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini safely for daily life, then for work.

Skills for office and admin jobs

Most entry-level office roles ask for confident use of email, documents and spreadsheets. Our Office track builds exactly those skills, with a final project you can show at an interview.

Courses build skills and confidence. They don't guarantee a job, and we're upfront about that.

Booking for Mom or Dad?

Most of our learners are booked by their sons and daughters. You pay and choose the times; we keep you posted after every visit if your parent agrees.

More skills, coming to your door

Skill2Door brings any skill home: a trained instructor, a set course, the same person every visit. We're starting with computers and AI. These are next on our list.

Yoga and gentle movement

A 10-session course at home, including chair yoga for seniors and programs for healthy weight.

English conversation

Everyday and workplace English for newcomers, practised at your own table.

Phone and tablet photography

Take, edit and share better photos of the people and moments you care about.

Want one of these sooner, or teach a skill you'd like to bring to people's homes? Tell us when you call.

Questions families ask

Who are the tutors?

Students, retired teachers and IT professionals from your area. Each one passes a Vulnerable Sector Check, an interview and our course training before their first visit.

Can I choose my tutor?

We match you with a trained tutor near you who is free at your times. You'll get their name and photo before the first visit, and you keep the same tutor for the whole course.

Will the tutor ask for my passwords?

Never. Tutors are not allowed to ask for, write down or type your passwords, PINs or banking details. You always type them yourself.

What if I need to cancel a visit?

Cancel or move a visit free of charge up to 24 hours before. Your remaining visits stay on your course.

Can I learn online instead?

Yes. Everyday Computer Skills, Advanced Office, AI for Daily Life and Practical AI Skills all run online by video call, with the same lesson plans. Computer Basics works best at home, since it teaches the skills you need to join a video call. If snow or illness gets in the way, any home visit can switch to a video call.

Can a small group learn together?

Yes. Groups of 3 to 6 neighbours or family members pay a lower price per person. Call us to arrange it.
